Data Chat: Account/Client Rules

Teach Data Chat how your agency works — and how each client thinks.
Rules let you define how Data Chat behaves across every conversation. Set your tone of voice, preferred terminology, reporting conventions, and anything else your team would normally explain from scratch. Set it once, and every analyst on your team gets consistent, accurate answers without repeating context every time.
Account Rules apply across all clients — ideal for agency-wide standards like preferred metrics, reporting language, or output format.
Client Rules apply to a specific client — the nuances your team already knows but Data Chat needs to learn. For example:
"This client's ROAS calculation always includes offline conversion value from the store visits column."
"Count conversions excluding phone calls."
"The fiscal year starts in April."
"Refer to the loyalty program as 'Rewards Club', not 'points program'."
"Never compare this client's performance to competitors by name."
"GA4 data before March 2024 used a different attribution model — always note this when referencing historical data."
The rule is set once. Every conversation starts with the context your team would otherwise have to explain from scratch.
Where to set rules:
Account-wide rules: All Clients → Settings → Rules
Client-specific rules: Select a client → Settings → Rules
